This sculpture was inspired by the novel "The
Turn of the Screw" by Henry James. Miss Jessel
is a ghost that appears to a young governess,
materializing across a lake on her employers estate.
|
The features have been carved in an ambiguous,
sketchy manner to further expand on the concept
of being an apparition.
|
There is some question as to whether the apparition
is a figment of imagination in the mind of the
governess.
